Hi @bcollado1,

Read segment: Reading profiles from segments are controlled by Journey schedule when you use read segment activity. For example, if the segment created is a type of streaming segment although profile entrance happens near real-time for the segment it depends on Journey schedule frequency when the data will be used in the journey. There are some best practices on how many journeys you can schedule at the same time/asap to run parallelly.

Take a look at the documentation: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/journey-optimizer/using/orchestrate-journeys/about-journey-b...

Segment Qualification: Once you create the segment use that in the segment qualification activity allows If the selected segment is a streaming segment, the individuals belonging to this segment will potentially enter the journey in real time. If the segment is batch, people newly qualified for this segment will potentially enter the journey when the segment calculation is executed on the Adobe Experience Platform.

If you would like to understand the segment timing take a look at this documentation.

@bcollado1 ,

"Read Segment" and "Segment Qualification" are two different concepts in audience management or segmentation.

"Read Segment" refers to the ability to view the segment definition and the members of a segment. This is typically a read-only operation and does not affect the segment or its members in any way. Users with read access to a segment can see the segment's name, description, the criteria used to define the segment, and the number of members in the segment.

On the other hand, "Segment Qualification" refers to evaluating a segment's criteria against a set of data to determine whether a particular individual or entity belongs to that segment. This process is typically performed by a segmentation engine or a marketing automation platform. It takes into account the data available for each individual or entity and the rules or criteria defined for the segment.
