Profile Capping limitations/functionality

Avatar

Level 2

we have to implement a journey where we have to limit the profiles based on the conditions. but when we test the journey with different audience count , its not limiting the profiles according to the mentioned count.
we can see in the adobe documentation saying ,

For live journeys, here are the thresholds to consider to ensure the limit is reached:

For a cap greater than 10,000, the number of distinct profiles to be injected must be at least 1.3 times the cap.
For a cap below 10,000, the number of distinct profiles to be injected must be 1000 plus the cap.

but when we tested the profile cap through different audience count , the count of profiles which it's limiting is not consistent and its not according to the above threshold rules.please find the attached analysis on the same.

Could you please confirm on the threshold rules  and the behavior of the journey interms of limiting profiles according to the count.

"In the attached analysis, the profile entry count is not greater than 1.3 times the profile cap in some executions.

Entered Profiles Profile Cap(Limit) Limited Profiles 1.3 times to Cap
11331 10600 10446 13780
101158 96000 95937 124800

For other scenarios where the cap is less than 10k — is the journey a recurring one? Are you consistently observing this pattern for the same journey, or does the capping work correctly at times?

When the capping doesn’t work as expected, do the remaining profiles enter the alternative journey? Could you please share a screenshot of the journey along with the activity reporting? This will help us understand how many profiles entered the initial journey and how they progressed through the condition activity.
