Hi,
I would like to use Google Search Console , but I have not set Google Tag Manager into our website.
I tried to set it's tag with DTM and search help page, but I couldn't find any help page for this.
Could you tell me any page to explain to do this?
Tomo

Hi Tomoko,
As you are already having "Tracking Code" , I assume you are using "Google Analytics Tracking Code" as one of the method to verify the site owner ship . your code must be similar to the below tracking code :
<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');
ga('create', 'UA-49XXXXXX-1', 'auto');
ga('send', 'pageview');
</script>
So in this case , you can Add this code via DTM by "Adding a Google Universal Analytics Tool " to you property and use "UA-49XXXXXX-1" as the Production and Staging Account ID and use the Tracker name as "GA Default" and then use setting that Google Analytics code is hosted through "URL" : https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js . Hi, Mr.Mittal
Thanks for replying.
As you say, I am trying to verify my website on Google Search Console.
And I got tracking code, but I need to ask development dept to set the code into the website.
It would need long time and cost.
So if I could set the tracking code with DTM, I would like to know how to do it.
Thanks,
Tomo

Hi,
I'm in the same boat here, we've integrated GA via DTM, but this doesn't put the GA script in the HTML, thus the Google Search Console can't verify it. How do we make this work?
My other options is to place a file in the root, but that's not straight forward.
We also are having the same challenge and posted in a similar thread. Awaiting a response from Adobe Client Care.

If you need to deploy an HTML tag, you can do so using the third party section of a rule.
When you say you have a similar thread, do you mean a customer care ticket or do you have another thread on the community?

That means the GA script will be fired twice? I'm not following here.

You'd need to remove the GA tool if you switched to using the HTML tag in a page load rule. This would prevent the GA script from being fired twice.
