Profiles and Audiences - Active/ Inactive question...

Avatar

Regarding setup of an customer attributes in the Core Service Profiles and Attributes:

https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/mcloud/t_crs_usecase.html

The last step is to 'activate' the customer attribute data source. Data starts flowing then between the systems with subscriptions.....

Question: If in the future I make that attribute data source 'Inactive'... am I able to 'start over' from scratch with another data source? or have I just created some integration that takes up my "slots" of client attributes and won't go away?

Thanks for clarifying your question. Turning on a subscription isn't permanent. You should be able to remove the subscription in the Customer Attributes interface. The limit is an "at any given time" figure.

In my test instance, I was able to remove the subscription by clicking into the attribute source and clicking on the "X" next to the subscription.

Kevin,

Creating a Customer Attributes data source does not count against any limits. You can always add new data sources, so long as they have a unique alias ID. The only limits or "slots" as you called them are around subscriptions. You can find more about the subscription limits here. I've posted them below for convenience.

When configuring subscriptions and selecting attributes, the following limits apply depending on the solutions you own:

  • Analytics Standard: 3 total
  • Analytics Premium: 200 per report suite
  • Target Standard: 5
  • Target Premium: 200

Thanks,
Jantzen

I am asking if turning on a subscription 'permanently' takes up a slot. or if you could "re-use" your for examplem 5 Target Standard attributes over time.
