The JBoss for Adobe LiveCycle ES service terminated unexpectedly.

Last November, LiveCycle was installed and it working fine until last Friday.  Users were not able to login to Workbench.  I checked the services ant JBoss had stopped running with the message above.  I checked the server log and this is the last entry before the service stopped "2010-02-23 04:30:34,157 INFO  [STDOUT] [INFO     ]Checkpoint complete."  The service stopped at 04:43:46.

I checked the run file and the memory configuration is "set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m."  Could this be the problem why the service terminates?

May be this information can help resolve this issue.  I had the automatic directory synchronization scheduled for 04:00.  Since this was the only event occurring around the same time of this problem, I stopped the scheduled synchronization and the problem has not repeated.  Any ideas what could be the problem?
