SOLVED

still can't get a wet signature using stylus.

Scribble signature is still looking for saved signature in folders. I need to have real time signatures written by stylus on form. I have tried different things to make this field work but it still looks for save signatures.

It'd love to be wrong, but I believe this feature is only available for HTML5 rendered forms, using the LiveCycle Server software.

Correct, the scribble is only for HTML-forms!

Have you tried using a regular text field labeled "Signature", making the field protected, then saving as a Static PDF (provided it doesn't need to be Dynamic). Then you can use the Pencil tool (under Comments) to "scribble a signature".

You probably know this already, but if the form will be completed by Reader users, you'll need to make it Reader Enabled.

Also, since the signature will be applied as a "Comment," you may want to "print to PDF" to flatten the form once the signature is obtained.

NOTE: This is entire solution assumes you will have access to the form once signed. This is something I've used several times as a workaround to using Digital Signatures (Digital IDs).

Thank you to all three of you. I have had LiveCycLe for about 40 days now and trying to to figure out how to make an existing fillable PDF inspection form that I have for work take a wet signature. Our inspectors will take the form out on inspections using a true tablet with stylus and will need the facility being inspected to sign the form.

The original form only allowed digital signatures as TB17 mentioned needing a work around I also need one. I have tried to use a text field but have not figured out how to protect the field and saving it as a static PDF. Once the form is signed we do need it to be saved and protected.

Any step by step directions would be great. I would like to attached the original form and one that I attempted to redo with the different signature boxes.

Thanks for the help.

Hello everyone

So did I put everyone off by being such a newbie to LiveCYcle? truly need to get this to work and need all your expertise .

Any step by step help is most appreciated. Is there a way to attached the form to this forum so you can see what I'm talking about? I'm sorry that I'm not proficient in the workings of LiveCycle yet, but still doesn't take away the face that I need to get this done and need HELP.

Thank you

if by a wet signature you mean on a signature pad then the answer is yes you can. There are several partners that provide this functionality. Here is a url that should help you.

Using a signature pad to sign a PDF

Hello Mouslander

I have a fillable PDF inspection form used on a tabletPC that requires a signature from the inspector and the inspected using a stylus. The original form was created for the signature to be digitally captured with a current certificate/security card, however most that we inspect do not have this security card, so we need a actual signature from them. I have tried to insert the existing text, scribble and signature field from Livecycle with no luck being able to use a stylus to capture a written signature. I was told a few times that LiveCycle would be able to do what I need that is why I have the product now.

I'm at a loss to what to do. TB17 has generously offered to help, so we will see if TB17 magic will work.

thank you

Is there anyway that I can get your help with this also? I have a Adobe form completely done except for the "wet" signature. I have been beating my head against the wall and would appreciate any help you may be able to provide. Thank you!
