size of reserve is frustrating me

I have a subform within another subform.  Then I have a table inside all of that.  The table has a row.  The table is stretched as far as both of the enclosing subforms (7 inches).  The row references a field.  The reserve won't stretch so my caption will not display. 

What did I do wrong?

Hi,

When you drag a field onto a cell in a table/row, it does not display the caption/reserve at all. You would need to set up a column for the captions and the adjacent column for the values/fields.

Hi Niall:

I understand what you are suggesting.  I can give that a try.  Do you know if there is some set size?  I have five rows and they all behaving the same.  I can stretch the reserve so that my caption shows in full on all five.  The sixth row has a very long caption but not longer than the field size allows.  I just can't stretch it!  Now things are not lined up within all the rows.
