Resource Version History

When I examine the resource version history for a SWF or XDP, virtually all versions for all files show the same "last modification date", 11/6/09 11:56 AM.  I tried to do some research on why this may be, but failed to find anything.

On my DEV instance, some of my SWFs have 100+ versions, and each version shows the exact same date and time, 11/6/09 11:56 AM, which may be the case for a later version, but certainly not the earlier versions.

On my DEV instance, some of my SWFs have 100+ versions, where the last few may have a "last modification date" that is different (11/18/2009 perhaps).

Is there some "event" that occurs, like an creating an LCA perhaps, that forces all versions at some point to be re-timestamped with the current time?  This is not something I have tried to do actively, so perhaps it occured as a side effect?
