Oracle synonyms: public or private

Avatar

The LiveCycle installation instructions specify that for the creation and initial population of the database the "CREATE SYNONYMS" privilege is required. I presume that implies LC will actually use that to create synonyms. The DBA is now asking whether those synonyms will be public or private, and I can not find that in the documentation. Could anybody advice?

Can you share the URL where it is documented and the database version you are configuring? As per the Preparing to Install document, the Oracle user account should have the following privileges:

  • CREATE SEQUENCE
  • CREATE VIEW
  • UNLIMITED TABLESPACE
  • CREATE TABLE
  • CREATE CLUSTER
  • CREATE SESSION

You are right. I messed up the different installation guides.
