Livecycle ES3 Form PDF Preview displays default message

I am a amateur livecycle form designer running windows8 64-bit, livecycle es3 and adobe acrobat XI pro. Any form that I design, windows explorer attempts to preview the first page of the form and instead we get a default message:

"To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

For further support, go to www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html"

The problem is these forms are also printed and imaged into a document imaging repository that also uses this "preview" to display the first page of the form. I have read some articles talking about XFA version, but that shouldn't be the issue because I am running Acrobat XI Pro as my default PDF application.

Hi,

XFA forms are wrapped with a shell PDF which is the only thing a PDF-processor sees when it doesn't support XFA.

The preview in Windows explorer doesn't know about, so you only see the Please Wait message.

Unfortuantely this problem is forcing us to NOT be able to use LiveCycle forms altogether!!

It is so frustrating when adobe technology doesn't work with adobe technology...we pay alot of money for these programs and you'd think we could at least get the programs to be compatible with each other!!

LiveCycle ES3 doesn't have support for Acrobat XI, Windows 8. Ref. : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/10.0/supported_platforms.html

Although they are supported with ES4. Ref. : http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle/help/livecycle-es4-supported-platforms.html

Hope this helps.
