Indicate PDF has attached documents

Avatar

Unless I am mistaken, when you attach documents to a PDF then e-mail it to someone, the receipient has no indication there are attached documents. The Paperclip pane does not automatically open to display the attachments. Is there a way to indicate a PDF has attachments?

Thanks

You can add a script to open the attachment pane automatically.

The only thing to watch out for is other PDF Viewers that do not accept Javascript. I actually have several PDFs that use this trick and in things like OS X PDF Reader, Foxit Reader, CutePDF and even now Windows 8 PDF Viewer, the attachment window will not open by default. Usually when I get calls about not seeing any forms the first thing I ask is if they have Adobe Reader and I have yet to find one that does.

Thanks for your reply. I will use this but I am surprised Adobe does not have an indicator that files are attached to a PDF. I thought it would open with the attachment pane open but in testing found it does not.

Thanks
