Anyone know how I can take a txt file or (any other format I can create from a txt file) and import data into a pdf document created in LiveCycle?  Is this possible?  What do I need to do?  Thanks in advance.

well you need to create an XML file to be able to populate an LC based form.

what you can do is, open you form in acrobat, without filling anything in the form go to > manage form data, and export the data XML

this file will show tags corresponding to all fields of the form.

you can simply modify this XML in notepad and merge with the form.

Let me know if it is something you intend to do.

This is definitely what I want to do I can get it to work with a new pdf that I create but not with my current pdf.  When I try to create the xml I just get this.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<form1 xmlns:xfa="http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/" xfa:dataNode="dataGroup"

/>

Any thoughts?

was this PDF created from scratch in designer, or was it some other format and converted to PDF and then imported in designer,.

i could take a look if you can send me the PDF at bazooka23in@yahoo.com.

Let me know when you have sent it, and please indicate in forums, which email address should i expect it from.
