How do we resolve a version discrepancy between workbench and the Live Cycle Server after upgrade?

We have Live Cycle ES4 installed on the server, using websphere, and Workbench ES 11 installed on laptops.  When attempting to log into the server through workbench we receive the following:

Where do we correct this issue?

Can you paste the message that you are seeing?

Have you installed ES4 or ES4 SP1? Use the version of Workbench that got delivered with the appropriate version of LiveCycle

also see the following

The version of Live Cycle on the server is ES4. All registry entries, and direct login to the server as well as the adminui link to the Administrators console indicate ES4 is installed.

The workbench version is also ES4.

For the version ES4 or ES4 SP1 I will have to confer with the server software integration specialist.

I am also forwarding your message to Brian Oakland for further comment.

still can't see the error, not sure why it is getting removed.

You can either directly paste the text content in or upload a screenshot by clicking "Use advanced editor" on the top right hand side corner of the message editor.

Text on this pop-up is

Workbench ES and LiveCycle ES Server Incompatible

This version of Workbench ES is incompatible with the LiveCycle ES Server 'server name'.

     Workbench ES version 11

     Live Cycle server version 10.0

From your message

LiveCycle Server version is 10.0 (means ES3)

and Workbench ES version 11 (means ES4)

so there is a version mismatch. Please use the same version of workbench i.e Workbench Version 10.0

Or

Are you getting this message even though your server is ES4? Has this server been upgraded from ES3 to ES4?

Again all indications on workbench, the server, and the adminui console say that Live Cycle 11.0.0 ES4 is installed in both places. So Questions in Part B are yes and yes, although ES3 has been uninstalled and then ES4 was reinstalled on the server. ES3 and ES4 workbenches were uninstalled and ES4 was reinstalled for workbench. What’s stuck?
