Expaning a text field inside a table

Avatar

Good day all;

I am slowly (and I mean slowly) getting the hang of this. Now for my next question.

I am trying to insert 4 text fields into a table. At least 2 of the columns will have the potential to me more than a couple of lines.

What I would like to have happen is the table and the text field expands as the number of rows within a text field expands. I realize that the whole row will expand if one cell expands.

I created a test form and added a subform that is “flowed”. The “Page 1” subform is also flowed. I added a table with 2 rows and 4 columns. In each cell I inserted a text field (without a label). For the text field I stated that it could have multi lines.

I tried typing in some text into 1 of the text fields and it (of course) did not expand.

Any ideas…… Oh… if you are wondering why I am using a table? Later down on the form I will have 3 sections that will not be visable unless a check box is sleected.

If there are better ideas (and the probably is), I love to know.

Thanks All

Hi,

Nearly there. If you go to the Layout tab and under the height, there is an 'Expand height' checkbox. Tick this.

Here are some examples:

Thank you Niall; This was great.

The 3rd example is what I am trying to do. The only thing different is instead of showing the full expaned text on print, I would like the expaned text to always show. I am going to do some testing and see if I can figure it out. If I can not, well, I will be back.

For now I am going to make this as answered.

Thanks Again for your help

Ok. Niall I did not look at this well enough before I put my last post.

I going to use option #3 it has an added feature that I can incorporate....

Thanks again
