Hi Everyone,
Is there a way to embed a swf into a livecycle designer form?
Adobe.TV has a video out there that talks about this, but it says that you have to first embed the swf into the pdf in Acrobat and then bring that pdf into livecycle and then start working with it as a form.
Why can't I just embed the swf in livecycle in the same way that I insert an image?
Many Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
I think Acrobat X and the next version of LC Designer will allow Flash/Flex content (effectively swf) in XFA Forms.
You can do it now, but the form needs to be a static form. Start with a blank PDF in Acrobat and import this into LC Designer. Here is an example: https://acrobat.com/#d=XKNeQ2HYQp9A*W70-Clc3w
There are topics on http://www.acrobatusers.com dealing with this. Also if you search http://www.windjack.com Thom Parker has an example of a swf movie in a form.
Hope that helps,
Niall

Does this mean, that we can't embed a flash file in a dynamic/interactive form?

This thread is far old and its content dated.
Since Designer ES3 you're able to add Flash fields to your form.
Here's a sample:
