I have a dynamic form that I created and I need to get it posted but am having some issues.

1. I need the fields to be optional and it tells me that the information entered is not what was expected

2. I have a button to click that will send the completed form to a department mailbox, but when the form arrives it is a .xml and only contains the newly entered information. What did I do wrong? I saved it as a dynamic pdf.

3. Is there a way to send you my form so that we can talk about it together???

I am on the verge of tears with frustration.....

1. I'm not sure what is going on there. Fields are optional by default. What exactly does the warning message say?

2. In Designer, create a button, and make it Control Type: Submit. A submit tab will appear in your Object palette. Click on that and type in mailto:youremail@example.com for the submit URL. Then select Submit As: PDF.

NOTE: In order to submit a form as a pdf, the pdf must be Reader extended. If you don't have LiveCycle Reader Extensions, and you have Acrobat, go File>Save As>Reader Extended PDF.

3. See if the above works first, then I'll see what I can do.

Hang in there, we'll all been where you are.

Here is the warning message I get. This is from the Preview PDF mode.

I fixed the email buttons like you directed thank you!

When I tried to the do the file save as for the reader extended pdf, this is all I get:

I have working on this since January along with many other projects (mostly presentations) and the department that this form is for is chomping at the bit because they need to track their training requests coming in and are working to shift the process of how you request training for the entire enterprise. I am attaching the form so maybe you can take a peek at the damage I’ve done ☺ I think it would be helpful if I took a class, everything I’ve done I’ve taught myself with trial and tissues!

Thank you so very much for your advice and help I truly appreciate it!

Hmm unfortunately, I can't see the pictures. Try posting it again. I can also take a look at your form. Submit it here: http://www.fieldeffecttechnologies.com/pdfupload

I entered information into the Provider Address text field and I get a warning from Adobe Acrobat that says “the value you entered for Provider Address is invalid. To ignore validations for Provider Address, click Ignore.” The object I chose for this field was a text box.

The other image was related to doing a file save as for the reader. When I click on files save as, my only options are: Adobe Static PDF, Adobe Dynamic PDF, Adobe XML, and Adobe Livecycle Designer Template.

I sent the attachment with the link you sent me.

For almost all your fields, your validation pattern is null{}. Make sure it's blank to remove any validations. Also your Time zone field is set to mandatory (Required).

Sorry, I should have been more specific, Save As in Acrobat Pro.

Hi there!

I changed all of my fields to make sure they are all blank and when I preview it and load in an address, I am still getting the following warning: “The value you entered for Provider Address is invalid. To ignore validations for Provider Address, click Ignore”. I checked every single text field for all 4 validation fields to make sure nothing was checked and that they were all empty. Please Help!

1) Click on your Provider Address field.

2) Under the Object palette select the Field tab.

3) Click the Patterns... button

4) Select the Validation tab.

5) In the Pattern: text box, highlight and delete null{}

I do that on your form and I don't get any warning message.

I can post it if you're still unclear.

It works thank you!!!!

1 last question (for now…) I am working on saving my form as a reader extended like you said so that the entered information stays intact with the form on the receiving end since it will have an email link and I am in adobe acrobat…file save as…reader extended PDF….and there are 3 choices: enable adding text in documents that are not fillable forms,OR enable commenting & measuring, OR enable additional features. Which do I select??? I’m afraid to click anything now that the form is working like a charm….

Select Enable additional features. Glad it worked out for you.

Don't forget to mark as Correct.

Whichever post helped you the most and you think would help others with the same problem.
