Adding text or button to the right of a form field

I have created a form that is one column. There are times when I want to add a text field or button to the right of a form field. Sometimes it allows me to do that and other times it just moves the added text field or button to the bottom of the form. What makes it do this? I have attached my form so that you can see if I have every coded the right way. I have changed the field labels to protect the innocent!

You have the subform content property set as Flowed. You need to change it to Positioned inorder to have the controls placed next to each other.
