FDF Toolkit and Adobe Designer 7.0

I created a dynamic PDF form in Adobe Designer 7.0 and a ASP page to set values to text fields in FDF file. When I run ASP page, I can get FDF file from web but the text fields are blank. I can run FDF Toolkit examples such as GenerateFDF.asp and GenerateFDF.pdf (I think this PDF form was created in Acrobat 5 or 6) in my machine and all data that is generated by ASP page is shown on PDF form. But once I open GenerateFDF form in Adobe Designer 7.0 and resave it, the data in text fields was gone when I run GenerateFDF.asp page. I am not sure what causes this problem. Any helps will be appreciated.

FDF Toolkit works only with Adobe Acrobat forms, i.e. AcroForms technology.



Adobe Designer forms are using the XFA (XML Forms Architecture) specification and are not compatible with FDF Toolkit.



For the server side, you have to use this tool, instead of the FDF Toolkit:

Based on your comment, I try to use Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional forms and FDF toolkit, it works fine now.
