Compatibility between tag names in Professional and Binding in Designer

Q: Is there a way to get the same 'recognition' Acrobat Professional uses in their object/tag names to match up with an object name set in Designer?

We have tried naming the objects in an xdp/pdf using Designer, but without the same results as if these objects were named in Acrobat Professional.

History: Currently we use Designer 7.0 to build XDP's of our forms (350+) to run on FormServer. Many fields on each of these forms 'prefill' with advisor/client information from settings in the Binding tab. These forms are then stitched together to make on large PDF.

There are approximately 30 of these forms that are also used/shared in another 'forms tool' that uses the tag names set through Acrobat Professional. Professional doesn't allow us to do any 'Advanced Editing' if the form was designed in Designer.

So...,

Our process for these (30) forms is to [1]build the forms in Designer (since we need the XDP for other apps), [2]'dumb' the form down page by page in Illustrator, [3]merge these individual pdf's back into one pdf through Professional, [4]and then proceed with the interactivity. (!whew!)

With this process, we can [5]then add in tag names to each object that needs prefilling by the other system and finish the form.

Not too bad for 30 forms - but we are now looking to inherit 300+ more forms.
