Adobe Designer 7.1 couldn't be loaded - ERROR

I ordered the update from my existing Adobe 7.0.5 last week - I'm beginning to think I may just have wasted $45. I weas hoping this new version would correct problems with XML outputting and designer handling of attributes in elements.

Having installed it - and then re-installed it - and then repaired it - I cannot get past this dialogue box:

===============

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Designer 7.1\Designer.xdc couldn't be loaded!

===============

Then it creates a Dr Watson dump so I sent a few of those to Microsoft.

Fortunately the old 7.0 Designer still works fine...

So much for that I guess. I'll have to wait till the 7.5 release and try again.

I know it's been a while but did you get this resolved?

If not; one thing you could try would be to delete the offending Designer.xdc file, and then run a Repair Install. It sounds like there's some reason it just can't load that file..

Steve,

OK - I'll circle back around on this later this week. I'm assuming its something to do with the setup on my Win XP laptop that it does not like. But I'll see if I can isolate something - and I'll try the delete / repair trick.

Thanks, DW

Just curious, do you have
both 7.0 and 7.1 installed or have you removed 7.0 then installed 7.1?

David,

I faced the same issue on my little Win 2k3 server. However, I just needed to remove the old installation completely and then run the new installation and it worked.
