Transaction Data

Hi,

If we are bringing in transactional data with purchase amount, how are we able to get monthly average amount when creating a segment?  For example, if we are looking to segment users who spent an average of $400 a month?

Thanks

@SCB21 You would have to use segment builder. Segment Builder provides a rich workspace that allows you to interact with Profile data elements. The workspace provides intuitive controls for building and editing rules, such as drag-and-drop tiles used to represent data properties. Generate the segment rule based on basic building block : “Attributes”, “Events”, and “Audiences”.

1.  Drag and drop the events related to your purchase. For example:- In the below screenshot, I have used the Commerce Purchase event

2. Select the specific attribute and use Segment's builder Aggregation functions. To create an aggregation function,

a.  Select an event from the left rail, and insert it into the Events container. For example, select the checkout event.

b. After placing the event within the Events container, select the ellipses icon (…), followed by Aggregate.

c. Aggregation is now added. You can now select the aggregation function, choose what attribute to aggregate.

Please refer to the below screenshot in which applied the Average aggregate function on the selected event.

3. Apply the time rule, it will gives many options to apply the time rule.

Once done, you are all set.

Hope this helps!
