Is it mandatory to use Consumer Experience Events field group for Customer AI?

Hi,

I was trying to build a customer AI instance using Experience events schema (Source - Salesforce CRM) build using only custom field groups. I tried to add only one dataset and in the goal section, I added 2 fields and have set respective values for them. Other options I had left as it is (Timeframe - 30 days. Eligible population, Custom events and Profile attributes - left as it is. Toggled off the "enable scores for profle).

I am getting the below error message. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Error message:

It's no longer a requirement to use the Consumer Experience Event fieldgroup. Data requirements are here:

Hi @dwright , Thanks for the reply.

After alot of hit and trial, I reached to a conclusion that while defining Goal we can only select OOTB field groups or customer AI supported field groups, and only in the Custom events section we can utilize custom field groups for our model.

Please confirm, if my understanding is correct.

(Here is what I have tried to build-

I tried to build customer AI instance using an events dataset with only custom field group and in goal section when I used custom fields, it throwed an error and I could not create the ai instance. Error msg - "{'_schema': ['Total number of event definitions (including both standard and custom) across all input event datasets is 0. This is not a valid application definition. Please edit input event datasets or custom event definitions.

While, when I tried to include a Adobe analytics dataset along with the events dataset build using custom field groups and in Goal section I used Adobe analytics dataset fields, while in custom events I added custom fields from event schema, I was able to create the model)
