Search and promote is working fine one one environment but returning invalid response on other environment.
We rechecked the configurations as mentioned in the docs, everything seems to be ok as per adobe S&P integration document.
Also the results component of S&P is returning results of only staged indexed pages and not from live indexed pages.
We have given live in S&P config item in felix configuration manager
Configs in S&P tool should be pushed to live to see the results.

In Search and Promote console, check whether full index ran and completed without any errors. There is staged index and live index, also in home page (under prod account) search for a keyword and check whether desired results are displayed.
Most of the debug can be done in S&P console, if the results are displayed correctly, from AEM we will be calling the url, which returns json response.
Try debugging in Data View at Report > Data View.
Compare Stage vs Live view, you can see results based on keyword match as well.
