OOB preview option for path browser?

We want to show thumbnail for either an image or video when we select it.

There is no way to perform this use cases out of the box.

A pathbrower lets an author select a node in the AEM JCR.  The following illustration represents a pathbrowser. As you can see, there is no thumbnail when using this resource type.

I confirmed with out Touch UI team - there is no preview functionality.
