I have a client that is walking thru the setting up AEM as cloud service and it boots up and I can access Osgi, but when we try to get to the admin we get a http 500 error. They are running Java 11.
Has anyone else had an issue on running AEM as a cloud service locally?

Do you mean the SDK instance? Which version of it are you using?
(The filename contains a version, eg. aem-sdk-2021.8.5743.20210817T230726Z-210700.zip => version 5743)
And no, it should work fine, when you have unpacked and started it for the first time.
we are using aem-sdk-2021.9.5840.20210914T062009Z-210800 .. rename it just fine, and as it starts up we are able to get to /system/console/bundles......but then when we try to get to admin panel, we get a http 500 and some weird errors.. look at below:

What type of env you are using - SDK for local setup? Also, can you specify what exactly you mean by admin that gives 500 error?
So,
I want to be clear.....I have no problem running the cloud SDK on java 8, but I am wondering if there is any issues out there with multiple. So my machine is perfectly fine and is running on 8, but clients machine has multiple java versions on their machine. They 8, 11 and I don't know how many others because they have been doing java for years and years. When I say admin, is ..... when you go to start up cloud sdk, before the typical login page comes up, you can go to /system/console/bundles and you will be presented with a OSGi login and that will log you in, no problem. But then if you try to get to the UI interface for Author, get the 500. I have checked all the bundles and they are started and active no problem. I haven't had time to investigate, but I was wondering if anyone else had issues?
