Native page navigation in articles?

Avatar

Level 1

We currently use DPS as a means to distribute our literature.  As such we have many long folios (some up to 90+ pages). The current folio allows users to tap the center of the screen to bring up a scrubber bar to quickly navigate through the document.  Does this type of functionality exist in the new DPS article.

Also, is there a way to bookmark favorites in the new DPS?

Thanks.

Hi Damon,

Indeed, both the scrubber bar and a bookmark/favorite feature are not part of the initial launch version of DPS.

For long folios we suggest using browse pages instead of the scrubber. With a browse page you can have complete control over how you want readers to quickly navigate through your content.

Will there be a favorites function to save to in the hamburger menu in the near future?

What do you mean by "save to"?

A user can save a specific pages in the app to favorites so they don't have to go digging around for a certain page within the app.

I would like this favorites section to show up in the hamburger menu.

Ah, yes. We've talked about that feature several times although it is not currently planned. It's definitely something we want to do in the future though!
