I am new to AEM an during installation came across both Database (MySQL or MSSQL) and CRX Repository. What is the purpose of each and can we skip any one of them?

AEM forms jee is Livecycle+AEM forms on OSGI which is deployed as an war file to run inside the application server.
The database is for the livecycle part and crx is for the AEM part
If you are new to AEM Forms, we strongly recommend you focus only on AEM Forms OSGI or AEM Forms CS
I can't. It is a requirement that I learn AEM Forms JEE
if you are a new customer Adobe strongly recommends using AEM Forms OSGi
