In my application, the user fills out a form (Non-AEM) from a different platform. A webservice takes care of submitted data, this data from webservice is given to a PDF form template, then we generate a pdf out of it, which is sent to the user back. Now the AEM form template (We use a pdf template that is uploaded to AEM forms for templatization) that we use, is kind of large in size (more than 3MB, approx. 13 - 15 pages). This form after being filled (end user consumable generated pdf) becomes heavier around (9 - 10 MB). We do not use any custom font apart from Arial and no images. Any heads up as to how do we reduce the form template size?

If the template is designed in AEM forms designer, then open it and see its pages or components used inside. Check if any invisible images or backgrounds are added.

Thanks for the response,
indeed there were images when investigated in AEM forms designer. These are proprietary to the client and cannot be changed. Also, there are only text fields used to fill in those forms.
The size of files shooting up after filling-in is huge, is it normal to have such humongous size files after filling?
Is the resulting output pdf size less size if we use AEM adaptive form instead of PDF Template form?
