Does asset contribution only apply to one folder or can it be handed down to children of the parent "New" folder?

Are you able to add subfolders in the "New" folder of an asset contribution folder and still have it work as a contribution folder in the Brand Portal? We are using asset contribution folders in the Brand Portal to serve as an the upload point for assets being created for projects. But many of these projects need to have some structure to the assets they are sending. For example, we have a project for digital banners but need to organize them by the channel they serve. I was hoping to do this by adding a folder structure under the "New" folder and then have the contribution functionality handed down to the children in there. Is that doable or does every subfolder then have to be a separate contribution folder?

Asset contribution permissions can be set at a parent folder level and typically inherit down to its child folders unless specifically overridden. So, if you grant contribution rights on the parent "New" folder, those permissions usually apply to all its subfolders as well.

However, please cross check your specific DAM configuration because some setups allow for unique permissions on child folders that can block or modify inherited rights.

In short: Contribution access granted to a parent folder generally extends to its children, but check your system’s permission inheritance settings to be sure.
