Hi Experts,
Asset names are being cut-off during upload. It retains just first 50 characters of file name when uploaded from AEM UI, while the node name in JCR doesn't have any limit when tried to rename and save a node from CRX directly.
We have figured out a UI customization on changing the limit from 50 to another number, but I'm just trying to understand if there's any under-the-hood technical reason why Adobe restricted it to 50 characters.
Thanks.

The reason why on the UI you have a character limit is to support SEO requirements, naming conventions, standard taxonomy practices for your assets. Imagine all the org users dumping garbage characters/assets in the system that can totally go unmanageable, hence some input validations are put in place.
Hi @bsr78033597,
Although AEM is able to support a very long file name but Touch UI optimal file name length in term of UI is 50 characters. This is why we are experiencing this behavior.
Thanks!!
