Migrating from Enterprise ID to Federated Login

Hey experts,

we are planning to migrate from the mix of Adobe ID/Enterprise ID we have today to log in to the Marketing Cloud to leverage our IdP and the Federated/SSO login service.

Does anyone have any experience with this process?
The actual process seems simple and documented (https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/help/configure-sso.html), if you came from scratch. However we already claimed our domain as Enterprise ID. What happens with the existing accounts if I switch it over to Federated ID? Is this particular case documented somewhere?

My first reply showed up as a duplicate and when I tried to delete the 2nd one, the original disappeared too...
