Audience library maximum rules

While using Audience library to create audiences from real time analytics data. We tried to add too many rules to an audience, and received a message saying the maximum was 5. After that, We went back to edit the rule and were able to add 5 more on the same audience. How is that possible? Will all of them work? Or just the first five of them? I never heard of the maximum before. 

Here is the message we got:

Audience Rules Max

You have reached your maximum allowable rules in Audience Library.If you would like to use more than 5 rules, you need to buy Adobe Audience Manager.

As the message states, if you'd like to use more than 5 rules, you need to purchase an Audience Manager license.
