Implementation of SHA-256 Customer ID in Mobile App SDK for Audience Manager Integration

Hi everyone,

We are trying to implement a setCustomerID call, passing the SHA-256 encrypted value of the user's email in the mobile app SDK, in order to use it while setting up the audience in Audience Manager.

We searched but didn't any useful guide that explaining the procedures to follow when dealing with Mobile SDK.

While browsing we came across this thread:

https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-audience-manager-questions/id-sync-in-app-with-adobe-mobile-services/m-p/317467#M506

in the second part in particular it talks about Customer IDs. I believe this solution could fit our use case, too bad that the post refers to Mobile Services, which is now a deprecated solution.

Therefore I ask the community if someone dealt with the same issue and found an alternative solution, for the implementation of Customer IDs with email hash 256.

We have only found the Web documentation which I attach here below: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/id-service/using/reference/hashing-support#use-setcustomerids-method

Thanks

Claudio

Hello Claudio,

You can leverage the MobileSDK syncIdentifier or syncIdentifiers methods: https://developer.adobe.com/client-sdks/home/base/mobile-core/identity/api-reference/#syncidentifier
