Are there any guidelines/best practices for specifying the Data Source while creating a Trait. Here is my understanding:
1. For Onboarded Traits - we need to specify the Data Source to be the Cross-device Data Source which will be receiving the offline data
2. For Rule-Based Traits based on Analytics Data - We need to specify the Data Source to be the Report Suite from which the included signals are expected
3. For Rule-Based Traits based on Data Collection Calls (/event calls) - Which data source (type) should be specified for this scenario?
Thanks,

Please find my answers inline:

Yes,that is correct in case on onboarded traits the data source type is always cross device
2. For Rule-Based Traits based on Analytics Data - We need to specify the Data Source to be the Report Suite from which the included signals are expected. For Rule-Based Traits based on Data Collection Calls (/event calls) - Which data source (type) should be specified for this scenario?
I am combining these two questions here.Data source selection in case of rule based traits will not hamper the trait qualification,as they will be qualified on the basis real time website data.To better organize our data and associate the correct profile with the data collected,we need to make sure we are choosing the required data source.
Also the analytics data source which are auto created in the system are for the historical data shared from analytics and not for the rule based data

So for all rule-based traits, can I specify the data source to be my cross-device data source if that is the profile repository I want to enrich with onboarded as well as real-time data?
