Virtual Report Suite and Marketing Channels

Avatar

Level 1

We are sending data from two websites to the same report suite and this has caused issues with marketing channels, as we need two sets of marking channel rules for each website in the report suite. I was told to set up a virtual report suite for one of the sites but it doesn't seem I can set up new marketing channels in a virtual report suite. What is the best way to fix this?  Should I set up classifications in the new virtual report suite?

Hi @ancooleyHPFC ,

Virtual Report Suites will always inherit the settings of the parent report suite. So, it's not possible to explicitly setup Marketing Channels or Classifications for a VRS. You would be able to fix this going forward by sending the data to two separate report suites and have separate Marketing Channels Processing Rules.

To fix historical data, you can try working with the Adobe Engineering Services Consulting team (through your CSM) and discuss with them the possibility of moving the existing historical data to a new report suite (while reprocessing based on the Marketing Channel set up for a new report suite). It would be chargeable, however, I think that might be possible and something worth exploring.

Hope this helps!

VRS inherits the settings of the parent report suite, VRS does not allow to customize such settings.

The ideal solution would be to send data to two separate report suites wherein each site can have its own Marketing Channel settings.
