Segments multiple owners or group ownership

Avatar

We use Adobe Analysis Workspace in our team. We have created multiple segments over this time.

The challenge we are facing is that these segments can only be edited/modified by the person who created them.

This puts us at a big risk, incase the person owning the segment is unavailable, we are unable to make any changes to the segments.

We have tried the Share option for segments. On sharing, the segments are visible to the other users, but the other users cannot modify the segment.

Is it possible to change the ownership of the Segment to multiple members?

What are the best practices when it comes to managing segments in a team?

Only admin can edit and delete any segment from any user. Also, Admin can share the segment to the user groups. But non-admin can only edit or delete their own segments and can share it to individual users.

Here is the Segment Rights by Role:

Segment functionality differs mostly between admin-level users and non-admins.

  Admin users Non-admins
Applying segments Owned segments or shared segments. However, can share any segment from any user to themselves to use Only owned segments or shared segments
Viewing segments in Segment Manager All segments across the organization Only owned segments or shared segments
Managing segments Can view, edit, delete, or approve any segment from any user Can only edit or delete their own segments. Cannot approve segments.
Sharing segments Can share with entire company, user groups, or individuals

Can only share with individuals

Here is some documentation from Adobe Analytics on Segments:

Segment rights by role:

Thanks Krishna for the quick response.

Just to validate my understanding, there are only 2 ways that you can get edit and delete access to a segment - you are either an admin or you own the segment.

So if I create a segment and I want my team to be able to edit or delete it. The members of my team will have to be Admins, there is no other way they can edit or delete the segment that I own.

Is my understanding right?

They have an option to edit the segment which you have created. But, they cannot save their changes to that segment, they have to 'save as' segment as another new segment. Which will create another segment and then they will be owner of the new segment.

This is how it saving the segment looks like, if i am editing the segment which i don't own.
