SAINT Classifications downloading key but rest of fields blank

Hello,

I've uploaded a number of SAINT classifications and then, a few days later, downloaded the full list of classifications in my report suite but noticed that many rows has only the Key Field but that the rest of the fields in the row were blank. Of course they weren't when I uploaded them. Does anyone have any idea what might have caused that? Very weird issue.

Hi Matt

yes that is correct. Your key values should start on row 6. ~none~ is used to change the name  for the variable which has no value. Eg in the case of site traffic, you might want to classify traffic ad "Direct" instead of it appearing as None in the report.

try to upload via the browser import and let us know what the result message is. Hopefully it's successful!

Hi Matt,

It appears the classifications keys that are still blank did not have successful classifications upload updates. If you have given it a few days and classifications are not propagating 'in progress'; I would recommend a re-upload attempt of the blank classification keys.

Hi @Brian but why would that ever happen? Have you seen this issue before? The real problem is that it didn't happen just one time but rather we discovered that this was an issue on many of our suites. It's going to be hard to re-upload all of those individual tab files and moreover, we need to understand and fix the underlying problem which is still diagnosed.

Hi Matt,

Its difficult to say without knowing more of the details and reviewing the files further. I would recommend using the FTP import process if you need to apply uploads across uniform classification setups with multiple report suites. If you feel there is some type of product error causing your issues then Adobe CC would be the best resource to address.

Hi matt,

can you post some screenshots and the community can try to help troubleshoot?

1. Header and first few rows of .tab file

2. First page of the uploaded with the correct variable selected

3. Screenshot of the status message shown after upload.  (e.g. where it says 19 rows successfully updated)

Cheers

Thanks Kristi,

I attached a screenshot. I'm not sure what you're asking with regard to # 2. As for #3, I don't have any screen shots right now but let's assume that files were uploaded successfully without any errors.

Hi Matt

your .tab file is formatted incorrectly.  You require a row between key and your fist entry.

I suggest you navigate to the Classification Importer (in the admin menu)

1. Download the file from browser export

2. Copy/paste in your values. don't manipulate the file in any other way. save it as csv and then change the extension to .tab

3. Upload the file via the import file tab.

4. Take not of what the success message is.  It should look something like this

KristiB, ok thanks. Are you saying that it's required to have a blank row between the header and the first key value? Your'e first key value in the example was ~none~ so I want to be sure what you're saying.

Thanks,
