Previous Weeks Comparison Based on Selected Dates

Avatar

Level 2

I would like to create a segment for the previous 4 weeks, but that adjusts based upon my date selection and isn't tied to the current date like the screenshot of the Date Range setup below. So if I select the first week of December 2024, then it would return the 4 previous weeks in November.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

Hi @JayGr ,

The option that you are looking for is Make date range components relative to panel calendar, this is available when applying the panel date range,

When this option is selected, any date range components used within a table, visualization, or panel drop zone are in relation to the panel date range.

Here's the date range I created for last 4 weeks,,

When applied to with different selections it behaves as below,

Please note that the names of the date components will also change relative to panel dates when this setting is applied, so don't be alarmed when you see that happening

Cheers!

Yes, the relative date ranges are the way to do this.. but be aware, the "relative" seems to be based on the first day of the date selected.. sometimes in this scenario, depending on my complexities... I will select a single date for my panel, and make everything based on relative date ranges (including what would normally be your "selection".

Basically, just make sure that all the selections are correct for your logic... For instance, if you choose the month of December, you want to be sure it's using November for your comparison.. and not accidentally pulling October.
