Link Instances in visit not aligning with visits to t...

Hello, 

I am comparing visits referred from Page A to total visits of target Page B. There is no other way to reach Page B except via one link on Page A. I am counting the referrals from Page A by a specific link instance occurring in the visit. 

Currently the number of visits with the link instance are half that of the total visits to Page B. Direct visits to Page B is not the issue. I don't expect them to match, but I also don't expect them to be so different.

I'm not looking for solutions, just possible causes. Thank you!

If both the pages are on same domain, user can have multiple link instances but will count as a single visit. I would rather compare specific link instances on Page A vs pageviews on Page B.

Yes they are on the same domain, but there are twice as many visits to Page B than there are of visits with the specific link instance on Page A. In fact there are many more page views of Page B as there are of specific link instances on Page A as well. That's where I'm confused.

Unfortunately it's not something I can grant access to. Do you have suggestions on what to look for? I'm starting to wonder if there may be an issue with visits from mobile devices. When I segment the traffic to just non-mobile devices the number of visits with the specific link instances is significantly closer to the visits to Page B from non-mobile. Sadly I don't have access to the tools today to test this theory.
