implementing Enhanced Measurement in Google Analytics 4

I've been working on implementing Enhanced Measurement in Google Analytics 4 for our UniformMarket website to gain deeper insights into user interactions. However, I've encountered an issue that I'm struggling to resolve.

I've followed the documentation provided by Google for enabling Enhanced Measurement, including enabling the "Scrolling" and "Outbound clicks" options in the GA4 settings. While I can see some data being collected, I'm not seeing any events related to scrolling or outbound clicks in the reports.

I've double-checked the implementation and ensured that the GA4 tracking code is correctly installed on all pages of our website. I've also verified that the events are being triggered correctly using Google Tag Assistant. Despite this, I'm still not seeing the expected data in the GA4 reports.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with Enhanced Measurement in GA4? Are there any additional steps or troubleshooting tips that I might be overlooking? I'd greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to resolve this issue and ensure that Enhanced Measurement is working properly for our website.

Hello @AzeemM1, We haven't implemented GA4 Enhanced Measurement yet. But we are in the process of implementing it. We do use Ensighten as Tag Management System to implement. We are evaluating to use GA4 - Measurement Protocol app in Ensighten to see is it usable or to update the app. Can I know hoe you are implementing GA4 - Enhanced Measurement?

Is this still live on your site? I am not seeing any scroll or outbound clicks triggering in the network panel. Or are you still testing in preview mode?

I do have enhanced tracking enabled on our sites (it was actually enabled by default when I created my new GA4 properties - I had to explicitly turn off what I didn't want... but that was almost 2 years ago when I was working on the migration from UA to GA4, it has probably changed due to privacy concerns). Anyway, the point is, it should be as simple as enabling or disabling it inside the Data Stream.

A few questions since I can't see your implementation:

  • Did you enable in the correct data stream?
  • Did you wait at least a day for the data to appear? GA4 has a 24-48 hour latency.. so if you add something new, you can't really see the data for at least a day (unless maybe you are on the paid GA and get priority?)
