Discontinuation of Report & Analysis

Avatar

Level 5

Hi,

Understand that Reports & Analytics will be end of life by end of 2023, while we appreciate and already utilizing Analysis Workspace, we are still using some of the features in Reports & Analytics and looking for advice on how to achieve them when Reports & Analytics is no longer available,

  1. Bot traffic / Bot pages report ?
  2. Real time report ?
  3. Scheduling report expiration
    • Current in Reports & Analytics: scheduling report will last forever without expiration date.
    • Workspace: scheduling report will be expired in 12 months, need to click into each project to update the expiration date every year.
      • We have over hundreds of report because of numerous business users & website/ App in different business units. It will be difficult to click into project one-by-one to update the expiry date. Would there be auto-update function/ not expiration date setting for Workspace scheduling report?
  4. Extract Data report
    • Business use case: check the daily traffic by a single report dimension (e.g. pages / banner code, etc)
    • Currently in Reports & Analytics: “Extract Data” feature enable 2 dimension report with
      • column as daily trend for at least a month (>30)
      • row as Report dimension value (from top 50 up to 50,000 row)
    • Data Warehouse: not reader-friendly to business users
      • Raw data list, instead of 2 dimension trend table
      • Cannot limit no. of report items to be shown (e.g. top 50 pages only)
    • Workspace: only up to 400 row & 15 columns for each freedom table.
    • Any other way to do something like the “Extract Data”?

Thanks,

John

Have you checked this article: https://express.adobe.com/page/6WnF8JK6IRDhf/

It has a specific section for features that will be supported by workspace before EOL, and features that will be deprecated. This should answer your points 1, 2, and 4. Although an additional for point 4 have you tried "Download items as CSV"? Does this not cover your usecase?

Coming over to point 3....this is more from a best practice setup. What we see is that the reports that are scheduled, if not updated or touched, are rarely then consumed by the receiving party. Either cause the objectives/KPI's have evolved, or the people receiving it have left or moved on. It is a good practice to review your scheduled files and update them once a year at least.

Dear John_Man,

Every point is valid and not sure users will have an absolute answer before Adobe comes up with the plan for future releases. Rather than posting this as a question, change this to an idea so that Adobe Folks will see through and guide you.
