Changing color scheme, design on Journey Canvas

Avatar

Hi all,

Anyone know if there's a way to change the background color/color scheme of a Journey Canvas visualization in CJA? Wondering if there are any ways to customize.

Hi @JaniceAk,

There are some design options that, although limited, may address your need.

In CJA, navigate to Componenents > Preferences. In Prefereces, select Project & Analyses. You will find some options. Not sure if changing this will make the Journey Canvas in a way that you want, but I believe it is worth a try.

Hi @JaniceAk

As of now, there’s no way to fully customize the color scheme or background of the Journey Canvas in CJA. Adobe keeps the styling pretty locked down — likely to maintain consistency across users and teams.

That said, you can check under Components > Preferences > Project & Analysis Settings like @FilipeFreitas  mentioned, there are a few light personalization options, but they won’t change the canvas background or node colors in a meaningful way.

If visual customization is a must-have, the best workaround would be to export the canvas as an image or PDF and apply your own styling in tools like PowerPoint or Illustrator for presentation purposes.

Would definitely be nice if Adobe added more visual customization in the future, I’d recommend submitting that as a feature request if it’s important for your reporting.

Hope that helps!

Hi @JaniceAk , I’m aligned with @Vinay_Chauhan and @FilipeFreitas.

In Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Adobe currently does not offer built-in functionality to customize the color scheme, background color, or design of the Journey Canvas visualizations directly within the tool.

However, here are your options and workarounds:

Export & Style Outside CJA

  • Export the Journey Canvas as an image (via screenshot or right-click download).

  • Edit colors and design in tools like:

    • Adobe Illustrator (if SVG)

    • PowerPoint / Keynote (for stakeholder reports)

    • Figma / Canva (for better visual storytelling)

Request via Adobe Support / Product Feedback

  • Many users have requested more visual customization. It’s worth submitting feedback if this is important to your reporting workflows.

As @FilipeFreitas  suggested. You can try:

  1. Go to Components > Preferences

  2. Open Project & Analysis Preferences

  3. Toggle the theme (light/dark)

  4. Try changing Color Palette to a different set (e.g., Vibrant, Muted, etc.)

  5. Return to your Journey Canvas project and refresh

It’s worth testing, especially if you're aiming for consistency in dashboard visual style across CJA.

Thanks.
