Best practice for user management and Adobe Analytics?

We trying to setup a new user management since our current setup has some problems. Eg users can't share to groups (since sharing is only allowed to "product profiles"), lot of work to setup VRS/component curation and product profiles.


We have some requirements which we would like to include in the new setup: 

  1. Users should be in "groups" and the permissions should be managed at the "group" level. So if a new user enters the company or changes the departement, we only want to add the user to a specific group and he should have the right permissions
  2. we heavely use VRS to give access to the data. this allow us to display/give access only the relevant items (dimensions/metrics/...) and the user does not need to add any filter to get into the right topic (subdomain or application level). futhermore, we use component curation and renaming of items to give users a better understanding of the data

Would anyone share some insights on the "best practice" for a user management? how do you handle user management in Adobe Analytics? does anyone manage user groups by API?
