EDIT: See this alternate idea for getting more exposure through twitter:
It would be nice to be able to tag a suggestion, comment, idea on twitter with a special hashtag like #omtrideax or something like that and have it auto populate a special que here in the exchange.
Perhaps this could be accomplished via an rss feed of sorts.
I think very few good ideas good be clearly stated in under 140 characters. I think all ideas -- and this community -- are worth more effort. Just my opinion as a fan of both Omniture AND Twitter.
So you see no value in capturing the many, many good ideas that are offered up on twitter? Often the response from @omniturecare is go post them here. But what if those ideas will pulled into a que/rss feed of some sort to be displayed here somewhere so that later you could add more detail.
Not sure how you could handle the login/ prevent spam but perhaps if our profile contained our twitter name and only pulled in items from existing members with the hashtag.
Think this one has few issues Rudi, being able to handle the login & spam is first one, then the issues of how can you really capture the ideas in 130 Chars or less by the time add hashtags, etc. Then the comments and collaboration on ideas, etc.
Totally agree, the more we can do as a community to engage the rest of community is great thing to do - as several have been thru the tweeting of ideas, rallying more to take a look, etc. - we should all keep doing that!
To really keep this forum working though think we need to encourage more in depth ideas, comments, review of existing ideas, etc. here vs. what can be captured in Twitter.
I can't argue with that, even if I wanted to.
What if the tagging from twitter would simply populate an rss feed that was accessible within echange. What I really would like is a way to archive a good idea you saw go by on twitter. Then you could look at the feed and then if there is a good idea, copy it and add it to the exchange in the normal process.
How about this - what if Omniture started a Twitter account for Ideas that simply echoed the Idea subjects as tweets ???
Have not fully thought this thru, what that might expose publically, but think would be a solid "Idea" to get more involved and keep people checking in!
