Small change to support iPad, iPhone, and all touch devices!

For the most part, the SiteCatalyst interface works well across the major browsers.  We also have the iPhone and Blackberry dashboard viewer for mobile use.  However, one relatively small change would go a long way for all touch screen devices.  Rework the metric selector!

Right now the only way to change metrics in a report is with a "double-click" or a "drag and drop".  This is IMPOSSIBLE on touch devices.  It's also very frustrating, because everything else seems to work great!

The selector for trended reports already works!

In addition to supporting touch devices, this could be a step forward towards a fully WCAG accessible SiteCatalyst.  But I have to say you have a lot of work on that front (just try to "tab" past the report suite selector).  Web accessibility is something that all web applications should strive for in my opinion.

We implemented this in our maintenance release on 10 Feb 2011! Mad props to Taylor Dixon on the SiteCatalyst development team for changing how the metric selector works so that you can drag-and-drop metrics. You will need to press and hold the metric for a second or two before moving it.

Thanks for implementing this.

Unfortunately, this is only partially working for me.  The drag and drop functionality is working great, but i'm unable to scroll through our extensive list of metrics on the iPhone or iPad.  Only the first 17 metrics are accessible.  Hopefully this can be fixed with a simple CSS change.  Photo attached.

Hi Matt,

It works if you scroll with two fingers. This is a built-in feature for Safari on iPhone/iPod/iPad since there is no other way to tell the browser that you want to scroll just within a page element and not scroll the page in general.
