Adobe needs to fix their documentation for SiteCatalyst. The biggest problem is that its not up to date & therefore not correct. there are so many references to version 14 with no mention of version 15. This leads to confusion & quite frankly errors because definitions/usage keeps changing in SC. I can't tell you how many times I have had to contact Adobe support just to clarify a definition or usage of something in SC. Even worse, as an analyst I am either giving faulty analytics or not 100% about the analytics I am giving to my clients which leads to decisions being made based on possibly inaccurate understanding of metrics.
Documentation needs to be ready at the time of release. Do not release your product & major upgrades when you don't have the documentation and help files ready. This is first and foremost. We need all the accurate information in order for us to make accurate analysis and in turn to help others make decisions based on accurate data.
Another useful though not critical component would be to have more useful documentation. More examples, best practices and what not to do's would help analyts be better at their job and use the tool more effectively.
If Adobe isn't going to spend the time and money to do this then open source it or crows source it. There are tons of analyts using the product. Hire or enlist them to be able to either create the documentation and/or enhance the documentation. Let us add best practices, tips, tricks, examples to this. Another variant to this would be to link the blog more closely to the documentation. If you create the right taxonomy (keywords for your documentation and blog posts), this should be actually quite simple and easy to do.
