Better visibility into "Uniques Exceeded" data in SiteCatalyst

Since Digg has millions of stories on our site, we always run into the "Uniques Exceeded" issue for story-level reports (Diggs by stories, shares by stories, etc.). after the first few days of the month.  I'd then have to go into Data Warehouse or Discover if I want a particular query such as, Most Shared Stories this month, or all stories with the keyword "cat," for example.

Ideally we wouldn't have the 500,000 unique records limitation in SiteCatalyst, but i can imagine the performance issues associated with that.  As an alternative, I'd like to see a the 500,000 records with the MOST, say, pageviews or instances, or whatever the default metrics is for that particular report.

Agree with this - while I  understand why the limit is in place as a publisher it is frustrating to run into this issues on or around the 20th of each month .

This issue prevents our editorial team from knowing what were the top stories viewed on site for several days of each month - something they rightly expect to be an easy thing to deliver, particularly for a news site. It is not ideal having to go into discover or the data warehouse for such a basic requirement.

If this is super critical to your operations, Omniture does have a custom solution to create a special daily report with the top 500,000 values of a particular metric.  I would reach out to your Omniture Account Manager and ask about the Engineering Services solution for Top Uniques.  Thanks.
