It would be great if we could compare dates (WoW, YoY, etc.) in Analysis Workspace. Almost every person at my company who uses Analysis Workspace have asked for it.

Hi @benjamingaines

Is there any update on this new feature to being able to compare date ranges in Workspace?

Thanks,

Another vote for this. Every company I've ever worked for (Microsoft, etc.) has loooked at year-over-year as one of the ways to look at data.

It *MUST* be in the same chart to be useful, not separate tables and therefore separate charts!

Please implement this *much-needed* feature. Execs ask for this all of the time. It's not enough to just show month-over-month or this year's trend. You have to compare the data to prior year's also.

The newly released compare functionality doesn't work at the Hour granularity. That's one of our biggest use cases to see how we are trending against same day last year. Smiley Sad

Hello,

Really excited about the date comparison feature! but I agree with @jake_winter. Date comp by Hour is needed. Any idea when that would be available @benjamingaines?

I noticed too that sub-relations don't pickup the conditional-formating for the Percent Change column. Cells should be formatted within the total of the higher-level dimension so the comparison is done amongst the children within the hierarchy. Perhaps in another tone of colors to differntiate from the higher livel. Here's an idea I found that asks for this:Conditional Formatting for Breakdowns in Analysis Workspace please vote!

Am I missing something? The comments say that the feature was released November 11, 2016 but i don't see it. How can i take advantage of this?

This is finally done. You can now compare with both dimension values and time ranges as your dimension down the left side, including the ability to align trend lines for comparison periods on the same graph.
