What is the best tip you've gotten or can provide to others on Adobe Analytics?

I have so many, it's hard to choose from, but at it's most basic, I'd say right-click, right-click, right-click!  Also documentation.

But I want to hear from others...what are some great tips you have on using Analytics?  Could be ones you've heard from others or ones you came up with yourself.

Hi @Meghan_Powers ,

What I usually recommend to the teams here is: get to know your data first. I know it may sound like a cliché, but I’ve found it extremely helpful to keep that in mind.

That said, let me share my perspective (please note that I am a CJA user, so I hope this can still be helpful to some extent).

I often notice that people are tempted to go straight to the workspace and start building dashboards using the drag‑and‑drop interface. While it is a convenient and intuitive tool, it’s important not to skip the stage of developing proper data knowledge—especially if you are new to XDM. For example, with web SDK data, there are several dimensions labeled “name” (page name, view name, referrer name, interaction name, etc.). My advice is to carefully analyze the schemas and datasets, and run some queries before developing anything further.

Another example relates to email deliverability: there are multiple metrics and dimensions—feedback status, error, failure, exclusion, bounce, and all the reason fields that provide additional contextual insights. Understanding how AEP processes this data has proven to be essential for defining the correct KPIs and, ultimately, making the right business decisions.

I hope this perspective was helpful and contributed to the discussion.

Best Regards,

Great points @FilipeFreitas !  No sense pulling data out of workspace if you don't understand what you're pulling
