 By now you know Marketo’s log retention policies mean you can’t get a 360° view of someone’s engagement back further than 90 days unless you take specific measures in advance. For some, those measures are exporting activities to a data warehouse every night. But even if we tech types arrogantly assume everyone who’s anyone can get that done, in reality it’s a minority of Marketo shops who do it, let alone do it right.[1] For the rest of us, the solution is to stamp Person fields with the last interesting data. Here’s where we buck the orthodoxy a bit. In our view, it doesn’t matter whether someone received an email on a Tuesday or a Thursday 10 months ago. It only matters, at best, whether they had activity sometime that week. Skipping unnecessary granularity means far less work for your instance. Rather than batch campaigns processing huge swaths of your database every day — or, even worse, trigger campaigns — you just run weekly campaigns on Sundays, using the handy datetime filter 

I’m looking for guidance on embedding Marketo Forms 2.0 into a third-party CMS with limited customization options. Our CMS is fairly locked down. I have set content modules where I can add HTML, plus separate header and footer code areas in the page settings. Script code only appears to load properly from the footer, so I’ve had to split the standard Marketo embed code:The ‘<form id="mktoForm_####"></form>’ goes in the page module. The Marketo Forms 2.0 script and ‘MktoForms2.loadForm()’ code go in the page footer.The form does load and submit, but the issue happens after styling/customization. Any custom CSS added in Marketo Forms appears to get pulled back into the CMS editor after the page is saved. If I leave the page and come back to edit later, the module HTML is filled with Marketo-generated styling and markup. This creates a duplicate styling situation because the styles still exist in Marketo, but now the CMS also appears to be storing/rendering them. I’m not sure

Are you all using the new email designer regularly now?I have tried creating emails from scratch, using templates, etc but with each one of them, I am seeing different layout issues. With some I see a blue background color on mobile even after having the background color and viewport color as white. With one I had the entire template looking amazing, but the footer got expanded across screen on outlook on windows.How is your experience?

Hi Team,We have a business requirement where, whenever bulk data is ingested in Marketo, the records should flow to AEP with the attribute bulkupdate = true. Subsequently, for any genuine (normal) updates to the same records, the bulkupdate flag should be reset to false, and the updated data should flow to AEP accordingly in the same flow run.However, based on our testing, we are observing that bulkupdate = false is only being set when specific attributes are updated. Since it is not feasible to include all attributes in a Smart Campaign trigger, this approach is not scalable.Could you please advise:Which attribute or trigger should be used to reliably identify any genuine update to a record?Is there a recommended approach in Marketo to handle this type of logic, where a field needs to behave like a reset flag after any update?For example, we attempted to use Updated At as a trigger, but it is not qualifying records as expected.Looking forward to your guidance on the best-practice appr

Hi There,I am trying to set up a new automated drip nurture campaign and want to make sure I’m leveraging best practices for a completely hands-off, "always-on" setup.Here is the scenario: The Audience: Leads created > 90 days ago AND who have not reached MQL status in the past 61 days. The Cadence: Weekly emails (4 emails total in the drip). The Goal: Fully automated. As soon as a lead meets the criteria, they should automatically enter the nurture stream and start receiving the weekly emails without any manual list pulls. I have used a mix of triggers and filters to capture both historical leads and newly qualifying leads: Trigger 1: Data Value Changes -> Attribute: MQL Date Constraint: New Value is empty Trigger 2: Data Value Changes -> Attribute: MQL Date Constraint: New Value is in past before -61 days Trigger 3: Lead is Created Constraint: In past before 90 days Filter 1: Created Date -> In Past: 90 days ago. Hi Team,I have a Velocity token created in Marketo that you previously helped with to display a dollar amount, round it off, and calculate it as 10% of the revenue. However, I now need to use the same token in the preheader, and neither adding just the token nor adding a $ before the Velocity token seems to work there.I’m not sure if there’s a limitation with preheaders or if there’s another approach required to make this work.
